Im trying to OC ram / cpu in increments to get stable timings with a moderate overclock.
What ive done so far which worked untill I wnt to mess with cpu multiplyer was:
1:1 for 2.0-3-3-8
200 fsb with default multiplyer (comes out to be 10.5 for 2100ghz)
Vcore @ 1.725
Vdimm @ 2.9
stable set up (prime95 12 hour test with no errors on a custum test to maximize cpu and ram)
Okay, I start to play with timings and was able to them down to 2-2-2-6 without issues, prime 95 returns errors after 15 - 50 minutes. So I put them back to stable settings and move to cpu oc figuring I can play with timings once I get things faster.
I start by taking the fsb up to 210......System wont post.....
Reset everything and try 200 x 10.5...System wont post....
Reset everything and try 210 x 10......System wont post....
Reset everything and try default settings....system loads just fine.
Reboot and try 200x10.5 @ 1.80 Vcore....System wont post....
Reset and try 210x10 @ 1.82 Vcore ..... System wont post.....
Reset and try 210 X Default @ 1.80 Vcore.....System loads, excempt once windows loads it flakes out and then will with half work or just lock up.
With 3 different FSB settings on default multiplyer system will load windows but with the same problem, it will flake out on me.
My main question relates to the not posting when I manually input the multiplyer, 200 x 10.5 is the only way I know of for the default multiplyer setting to hit 2100 GHZ.... yet it wouldnt post even with a vcore of 1.8. I tried a 1.85 setting as well with no luck.
At the base stable settings system runs perfectly. Any one ever encounter an issue like this? or could provide some information as to what I'm doing wrong?
The first time I left the mult. at default FSB was at 220 and system booted okay, and waited longer to flake out on me, I was able to pull up Hardware Doctor and CPU-z. CPU-z showd the 2.3 ghz and 420 mhz memory frequency, but shortly after the start menu wouldnt come up, and then things just started locking up. Temperatures peaked on the 2.3 settings at 35C for cpu and 28c for system.
Suggestions?
