my antec 900 and p5b build

Hope this is usefull in some way. Only second build, so take it easy on me.


Despite some weeknesses to the 900, I chose it over the p180 for these reasons.
- No door
- Audio and usb connections on top
- Cooling capabilities for my 5 hd's
- psu not sectioned off

I went with the p5b deluxe due to price, and not sure I understand what the additional cost for the p5w dh would be. Hope I dont end up wishing i had spent the extra money

Things dont quite line up... almost tho..

Problems with spacing in the first slot are not an issue as the first pcie occupies the second slot. I was afraid i would need to dremel, but thankfully no.

That cooler has gotta go. It will become an accelero x2 - got the x1900xtx for $300 - best i could do at the time, though i am a geforce fan

Big Boy - a lot bigger in real life

Unfortunatly the ocz power supply and corsair ram is coming from zip zoom and fedex is taking for ever. Didnt even make it to my business before closing - this is why people use new egg - id rather pay the extra and get my parts on time. o well

Anyone else notice how there doesnt seem to be a great keyboard with both wireless and ergo... is that too much to ask

I also have a Freezer 7 coming for my E6600 - I know there is better but id like to cap that choice at $30 or so.

still lookin for a good 19 lcd for round $200, acer maybe - to go dual with my 21 diamondtron crt - great for photo editing

parts finally arrived and i was able to finish up today.

fortunatly it fired up on the first try... now for a test run with Oblivion

That reminds of when I was working on my case with the door off, and I accidentally nudged the door a little bit away and the power connector came flying off the mobo with a largepart of the pins bent like that.
