I can only seem to wring out 450/786 outa my 9800XT with no artifacting. This is on a stock air cooler. Do you think I could see better numbers with An arctic cooler (en route)? Are these good clocks? I have no practical artifacting (IE in game... in benchmark maybe 1 or 2). It seems like the card is running hot (63)... is this normal? Also, what in my system is bottlnecking me in BF2, 2.4 northwood circa 2002, 1 gb rdram pc800x40, and the 9800XT. I have an ASUS P4T mobo and all the overclocking options are locked out. (this is OEM) is thre anyway that i can overclock the processor to decent speeds with the ram?

i had the same card bro, could barely get that thing OC'd at all before artifacting began. i took the hit and bought a 6800gt oc.

1. Yes and No, maybe you can push the core with new cooler, but it isn't going to help your ram since 9800XT uses 2.5ns ram which is limited to ballpark of 400MHz

2. They are good clocks for 9800XT already.

3. 63 celcius is normal with overclocking and stock cooler, and it is an ok temperature.

4. 2.4 Northwood is your system bottleneck.

5. It's unlikely you can overclock a locked OEM system. Since P4T uses rambus, you won't be able to overclock much because rambus doesn't like to be overclocked
