I have come to a conclusion, no matter what cooling I buy for my bfg 5900xt oc, and no matter what bios I flash it with, anything over it's set speed of 430/735 will cause magor throttling and freezing, and I don't wanna buy a 6800gt or x800 pro cause I just forked out 247 bucks for it in may( along with another 230 bucks got lost buying a regular 5900 through ebay), makes me think I shoulda never upgraded from a 9600xt and save up for a 6800 or whatever, doah!

you should have read this forum a lot sooner..

maybe sell off your 5900 and get a 6800?

hey not a bad idea. I might be able to flash the card with a watered down 5950u bios( 450/750), and alost make eenough, then save for a gt or whatever.

that is to bad but it seems a voltage boost to that card should get SOMEHTING out of it ? mine got a little

Sorry to hear about your 5900xt, usually the BFGs are good OCers.

How did you lose $230 on Ebay? If you used a credit card, you should have options.

I'm just curious because I had someone try to scam me on Ebay, and I had to go the cc chargeback route, which all worked out in the end.

oh crap, haven't been online in like 12 hours. I accidently vacumed my dsl cord thingy, whoops. Oh and I ended up using a money order cause my dad was too skeptical of using his credit card on ebay, and now he's letting me, weird. That was the last time I used a money order on ebay, or period. and I did try upping the darn thing's voltage to 1.6, and it didn't really help any. Maybe I got a dud oc'er. I was thinking about seeing if I could trade anyone for a regular non-ultra, knowing they run about the same price now.

Atleast you learned your lesson about ebay, full of scams.

Have you tried talking to BFG about?

wait call bfg about the card, that means I gotta reflash it back to the regular xt bios

to be honust... how much effort do you think rma ppl actually do with the cards? most of time they just look for physical damage i belive
