My 5850 came today...

I received my MSI 5850 today but I saw there's a scratch mark almost as big as my pinky's finger nail through the static bag. Did I by any chance receive a graphic card that was used? Or is this something that's usual?

If the card is working ok than keep it. If the scratch bugs you send it back and wait a month for a new one..hehe

Maybe but it also could have just been a scuff or scrape from when the card was put into the bag at the factory. If everything else looks like original packaging (no missing twist ties, etc.) then I would just assume it's new and go with it.

Just in case put the card through some good testing asap. That way if it was a repackaged rma and it's faulty you'll know sooner instead of later and can get something done about it.

I'm still waitin for the processor and ram to come before I can test it. Once I got them, what kind of testing should I do to check if everything's fine?

Inspect the card for any physical damage.

Plug it in, turn it on.
