My 2k1 score seems a little low...

unless you didnt put your OCed clock speed, mine is definitly a lot faster. Your vid card however has a much bigger OC.

i get 17440 with my 3.12p4, and my 9800 at 410/310ish..

so yeah, something is wrong there.. probably your mem, whats your mem ratio at? PS my mem ratio is 5:4

So let's get this straight:

AMD 2400+
1 gig pc2700 ram
9800SE Powercolor

And you're wondering why you're only getting 16k in 3dmark01?
Your system components are not that great, you're lucky to even get 16k.

I'm thinking you might get 5700 in 3dmarko3 with that rig, if that.

I just think he needs to get new ram , from what I'm gathering his 9800 SE is running just like a 9800pro. My Oc on my 2400M is just 14mhz faster , and when I run my 9800 stock I average 18.9k. So I'd say buy some new ram and you might see a big difference..

Dude... his components are fine. The RAM limits you a bit as far as your FSB goes, but if you're running at 200 fsb 1:1 then you're probably doing pretty good... his mobile is overclocked with 512k cache to 2.4ghz, which is at least 3500+ PR... That is fairly low for a 3dmark score..

I scored similar with my (now dead RIP) 9500 n/p softmod...

i got 18k max with my barton at 2.3, 512mb samsung ram at fairly relaxed timings (3-3-3-11), and my rad 9500 -> 9700 400/330

The key here is to disable some startup options
(winXP:
Start -> run -> msconfig -> startup)
Disable anything you know you don't need and it shoudl run quite well... For a stock run though, 16k is not shabby.

Also make sure your d3d performance options are set to "performance" and not "quality" if you're going to eek out every last 3dmark... personally i dont care for the HIGHEST POSSIBLE score i can get..

u should get bit higher but its not much off.. try 3dmark03, should get 6k+.
i got 16500 with xp2500+(o/ced to xp3200+) n 9500np@9700 (o/c to around 9700pro speed) n only get about 500 more on 3dmark01 with same setup n 9800se@9800pro (440/360).

try 9800pro bios it might boost the speed a bit if u have 9800 pcb.

dammit i put the core and mem up about 20 mhz each (40 mem) and my score went DOWN. this is with setting everything to "performance". I dont get over 15k now. wtf.

I should flash it to Pro but I want to know how well it worked for other people with the same card...it is 9800 PCB, in fact it IS 9800 but with probabily just an SE BIOS.

This may be a stupid question, but did you select the 9800->9800pro when installing the Omegas? Sounds like card didn't softmod.

NM, just looked at your fill rates.

You could try wizzards modded Cats instead of the Omegas. They might give you a few extra points.

If you want the big jump to the higher scores, i've found out that disabling startup programs helped a LOT (2-3K in scores!)

Start -> run -> CMD -> msconfig

Disable all the stuff you know you dont need (and disabling stuff you dont know [spyware?] helps sometimes too ;D)

Good luck

my 98P score is 16781 3DMarks with the signature system. Does is seems low.........:(

id say its your fsb that score is low i scored 18,600 with my barton at 2220mhz 216fsb, 9700pro, now i score at 2200mhz 17000ish with 200fsb,, Id say it is your ram / fsb because your ram is 2700 and if your running at ddr 400 then your running out of sync which is bad for NF2 chipsets :)

I run a tight OS, the only stuff that starts up is trillian, motherboard monitor, and daemon tools. they dont use any CPU.

is it really that important? damn. guess RAM is my next upgrade

yea running an NF2 Board in sync is very important, try running it at 166fsb to see what score you get, and then if that isnt higher try running it at like 220fsb with 1/2 ram multiplier and use lower ram timings that might even help you

problem is the highest multi I can get is 12.5x, thats only 2075 mhz.

thatd still be async ram, how would that be any different?

i thought you had o/ced your ram... what brand is it? Try pumping a few volts through it (2.9 or so) and getting it up to 200 fsb... It's worth a try! The async WILL hurt you pretty bad, but i thought you were running 1:1 in my original post ;D

ill try some voltage, mine doesnt go about 2.8 (normal 1005 BIOS) but Ill try anyway. I need to rig an external toggle switch for clearing BIOS, its a pain to get to it due to watercooling.

its kingston and crucial ram.

I got 18,3xx with system in my sig. I think I could get more after a reformat.

<sig police>

Your sig is way too long. The rules limit it to 10 lines. :)

Dude, don't worry about it. 3D Mark 2001 doesn't matter anyways. Are you happy with your actual framerates in games? If so, don't go out and buy a gig of pc3200 lol. Unless you're rich...

Yea it's definitely you're RAM. I'm getting a tad bit over 18k with specs in the sig (video card is at 360/295 and FSB is at 416).

then shouldnt I be getting around 19k if our cards were at default speed? Clock for clock my card is faster, then take into account mine is default clocked faster.

You think all of YOUR scores r bad?
How about mine:
1600+
512 2100DDR
Fx 5200
Nothing changed/OC'd
Score:
5.7k  `[
Is that too low for my specs? Or am I lucky to get that?
O well, I'm upgrading soon... :D

Does your video card have the "L" shaped memory, if it doesn't that could be your problem...

2.4c @3.2
Asus p4p800
ocz pc3200 512
9500>>9700 400/620
19161 3dmark2001se

im getting around 18k right now, i want to get to 20k when i put the block on my XT.
