My 2408wfp is breaking

I've had this monitor about a year and it was out of warranty when I got it. It has like 3-10 vertical lines of pixels in a cluster on the right side and as the monitor heats up, they go away and it works fine. The time it takes for them to go away has been getting consistently longer, and now sometimes when I wake my computer, the monitor doesn't recognize a signal until I power it (monitor) off and back on. So, I'm not an electrical engineer (yet) but I'm thinking if heat makes it better, there's probably a broken connection somewhere that re-connects as the contact points heat up... Anyone have any ideas of how to find such a thing? I don't think the two problems are related, but I'm getting bolder and more ready to tear it apart now that I'm concerned about it being on its last legs.
