Got my 2001fp today so I thought I'd share my first day experience:

No dead pixels at all. I also don't see any backlight problems. As far as I can see, it arrived in perfect condition. I do see the screen door effects, or rather, I used to see it. Within 20 minutes of using it I no longer notice it at all.

I did have to play with the color and brightness settings and I also had to adjust the contrast and gamma settings via Display Properties. Colors and white backgrounds were just "off." About 5 minutes of tinkering got it perfect.

I wasn't prepared for just how large this screen is. Although it replaced a 19" CRT, it still makes a big difference.

Although I chose the free shipping, it arrived at my door in two days. Overall, I am VERY happy with this monitor so far. $750, fast and free shipping, and zero dead pixels definitely makes my day. :)
 
That's good to hear. According to UPS, mine should be arriving tomorrow, and I'll report on it when it does.

I have gotten two 2001FP's from Dell and they both have similar problems in the same physical areas of the screen. On the upper left corner there is about 20 dead sub pixels (look fine at a glace and only show up when teh screen is black). The pixels in question will show every color except black. What makes it worse they are really close together. Both have a slight backlight bleed in the upper right corner.

Grab this program and check for dead sub pixels on the black screen. Ir's best to look at the screen in a dark room at an angle. I'm at a crossroads ATM. I'm debating whether Dell will ever ship me a monitor without issues. One alternative i've thought of is to keep both and tell dell to go eff themselves. Hitachi managed to get my CML right the first time. No backlight problems and 0 dead/stuck pixels/sub pixels. And yeah, that interlace pattern/screendoor effect is very annoying.

I'm not happy.
 
cool little program. Thanx. I received my 2001FP two days ago and it seems to have no dead pixels and just a very slight, hardly noticable, light bleed problem. Nothing I would send it back for. However the colors do seem a little off I've been adjusting them since I received it, but just can't seem to get them looking the way I want. Is there any program out there that helps with color adjust? This monitor rocks!!
 
you mentioned a screen door effect? I havn't gone through all the 2001FP threads and don't know if this has been said already but the backlights do take about 30 minutes to warm up and I wouldn't be too woried unless it happened outside of that time frame
 
Just got mine and have it set up here, and it looks like mine's a keeper. Not a single dead pixel as far as I can tell, and there may be the tiniest little bit of backlight leak in the lower right hand corner, but it'd never bother me.
 
About the only thing I have that I can complain about on mine is that the stand that came in the box has some issues on mine. The height adjustment seems to be stuck at the lowest setting (the button doesn't allow me to adjust it), and when rotated to portrait mode it doesn't seem to go all the way. Of course, I only got about a half hour to mess with it over my lunchbreak (and half of that was getting it out of the box and setting it up) so I'll have more time when I get off work tonight.
 
I'm still futzing with color settings. One minute I'm happy and the next I'm not, so I keep adjusting. I'm being picky about it but I think I finally have it the way I like. The Gamma and Contrast adjustments in the ATI display properies Color tab really helps get it the way I want.
