MX900 won't charge

My MX900 is about 3 weeks old. About a week ago I noticed that the green charging light no longer came on when I put it in the cradle and the red eye light was staying on. Recently the red light blinked alot, and now it's totally dead I've check the connections, and the contacts are clean. Does anyone know what the deal is? The batteries are in correctly also.
 
you may have a dead mouse. I would first try a new set of batteries. and if that doesnt work I would call up Logitech and get it RMAed.
 
it works fine if I put double A batteries in it, but the rechargable ones won't charge... either that or the charging part of the base is broken
 
do you have any other sort of battery charger you can use to take the base out of the equation. I mean if they charge on something else then you have a bad base. also if you have a volt meter you can always see if the base is putting out voltage.
 
If the base station is putting out voltage, but it still won't charge, it may be dead.

I have trouble getting my MX700 to charge all the time. So, occassionally I'll take a pink pearl eraser, don't use the white nylon type, and rub it on the 2 gold contacts on the mouse and base station. This gets rid of any gook that may have built up. But, I wouldn't think this would be the problem if it's only 3 weeks old.
