Ok guys I want to go wireless for my mouse and keyboard. I want bluetooth, because of the increased range, for use with my big screen tv. I'm want the MX900 and the apple bluetooth keyboard. My question is will the bluetooth reciever in the mx900 work for the apple keyboard? I'm running XP SP2.

I like the apple keyboard because it's small. I hate all the shortcut keys some of the keyboards out there.

I can't confirm directly, but as a FYI AppleKpro provides functionality for the special keys on apple keyboards when used on a PC.

According to specs, you should be able to use the KB with the MX900 base. Logitech has funky drivers that create a hassle with the mouse being used with a different base, such as many internal hubs.
 
well I know the apple pro keyboard will work, but I wondered it the mx900 bluetooth base would be compable with the wireless bluetooth apple pro keyboard. The mx900 would be the only bluetooth card in my computer.
 
Bluetooth is a communications standard. If they aren't compatible for some reason, either Apple or Logitech isn't following the standard, and since Logitech says their base is a Bluetooth hub, if other Bluetooth devices can't talk to it, someone is lieing.

CompUSA carries them. 70 bucks according to CompUSA.com. Or you could look for an Apple store locally.
 
Local Apple store isn't too close but I'll check out CompUSA (right down the street from me, lol) I'll have to ask the Apple guy about it.

I don't see why it won't work other then Apple suggestiong that you use the D-Link adapter (they are assuming your using OS X so I think it was something to do with how the OS interacts with the keyboard like some special keys) but I'm thinking of ordering the bluetooth module for Shuttle's XPC and using that and the keyboard or using the Logitech MX900, everything is pretty pricey though so I'll probably start with the BT Module and work my way up. :)
 
Just to let you know, I recently bought a bluetooth apple keyboard from compusa (figured I'd play it safe in case it didn't work) and was able to pair it with a Logitech mx900 I bought off ebay. I would highly recommend you download the latest bluetooth software from logitech. Personally I had to force the logitech bluetooth install since I'd been using the mouse without software for some time. The cd would error out saying I already had some bluetooth crap loaded and it wouldn't go further. Downloading the latest software (with bluetooth included) was able to load the drivers I needed to have access to the bluetooth hub. I was able to do a search, find the keyboard, and pair it. One hint, to pair the keyboard you have to be quick at typing in a sequence of random numbers and hitting the Enter key on the keyboard. Also, fyi, the Clear button on the keyboard is the same as the Num Lock key for windows. Now I get to use a regular apple pro keyboard (usb) on this pc and a bluetooth apple pro keyboard on my home theater pc system :) Good luck to all trying this stuff.
