MX700 problems

I've had this mouse for about a year and a half now. Lately, I've had a lot of problems when moving the mouse. I switch the batteries to some Energizers and it cleared up everything. So, I guess that the rechargables that they included only last about a year. What kind of batteries have people had good luck using for these mice?

Most rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) Batteries only last about a Year, depending on use, and proper Discharge/Charge cycles.

This summer I'll have had the MX700 duo for a year. I'm still using the stock batteries for the mouse and I've had no problems at all. I can leave the mouse idle for about three days if I wanted. I charged it and drained it completely three times like the manual said (beta testing Star Wars Galaxies and pulling all-nighters helped with this) and I've had no problems at all. When/if the batteries fail, I have some retail Rayovac NiMH batteries and a recharger that I'll use.

Will the base station be able to recharge any NiMH batteries, or only the ones that come with the mouse?

it should, make sure the batteries share the same characteristics

Used mine for over a year and still not having any problems with the stock batteries.

I have the same mouse. I know the batteries will die (it is like death and taxes) and would like to know what I am going to need to get if it does fail.

I love the mouse, and am not willing to part with it.

Hm, so if I wanted to use the base station to charge, I'm pretty much stuck with 1700mAh batteries? Or can I use higher ones too?

logic would dictate, if they are the same size (voltage, etc.), you could.

You just have to be sure they are the same type (in this case, NMHi)-- the charging methods could be unique for different battery types (I have no idea, but don;t want to wreck the mouse to find out!).

Just using logic here... no actual experience.

The charger will work with any NiMH batteries 1600mAh to 2100mAh. Higher capacity batteries will take longer to reach full charge however...

I bought some 2100mah (Energizer at Best Buy) batteries for mine.. seems to last longer, have had no problems at all. They charge just fine in the base/cradle.

I also have the same Energizer's from BB, I have had them around 3 months now, they are great and last much longer then the Stock 1700's that came with my Mouse.

It's not just my own logic that I'm thinking about. A lot of chargers have "logic" in them so that they don't overcharge the battery and such. I'm not sure if that would screw up other batteries...

I've had mine for about a year and a half and still no problems.

I don't think I've ever drained them. Only seen the flashing red light 5 or 6 times. I try to remember to charge it every night.

same here.. and came in two pairs.. so i always have a fully charged spare of batteries for my mouse incase (really helps at lan parties)
