MX500 vs the MX700

Yeah, I loved my mx700 up until the thing started eating batteries up like hotcakes and wouldnt charge anymore =(

The MX700 is the mouse to own right now. It is great!!! I have owned mine for over a year now and i have never ran out of juice. I charge mine everynight when i go to bed. Its not heavy at all, unless you like those crappy lite weight type mice. I like mine to feel solid and this one does. Never have a range problem. And I play all sorts of FPS's and never have a lag issue.

The MX700 is one of the best buys I have made for my computer. Anyone who buys a lesser mouse (even if its the MX500/510) for any reason other than cost issues would have to be a total lamer cuz this mouse rules that much. Sorry to piss off any lamers reading this...

i have the MX duo, and im guessin its the mx700 integrated (same style, base, and design)

and the mouse suxers so bad!!!! i can't stand it,

there is a split second lag, that i notice everytime i touch the mouse, and in gaming, it threw me completly off, so im getting rid of it,

yes i had the newest drivers (enu221) and fresh batteries, and even the keyboard lags ...

that is not normal. how close is the base station to your monitor? how far is your mouse working away from the base station? theres got to be some interference with the RF signal to get lag that that.

its like a foot from the monitor,

mouse is less than 8 inches from the base

They say that having the Receiver close to a CRT Monitor fucks it up. As for it lagging, they don't lag, so I would take it back and get a new set.

I've read that the scroll wheel sucks ass. That was on thing I hated about my old logitech 3 button wheel mouse. I love the wheel on my Intellimouse 3...but now that POS has a problem with the left click, it sometimes (1 out of ever 5 clicks) registers as a double click. It does this in both windows and linux so I am sure it's hardware related.

I am thinking about the MX310, I'd have to try one out in a store.

My intelli did that too so I did that whole MS thing that everybody else scammed -- send them serial# and photocopy of the underside of the mouse and they send you a new one.

As for the scroll wheel - mine's great, very similar to the intelli (which had gone out btw. . .didn't even give those little "clicks" anymore). I don't know how anyone could find something wrong with the scroll wheel -- there just doesn't seem to be anything logitech could screw up. It works, you can set the function, it's smooth but has the reassuring clicks. . . What did the article you read say about it?

The Scroll wheel is the best part about it. I always hated the MS Scroll Wheel's, The MX700's is the bomb.

The MX 700 is the best mouse I have ever owned. There's no anoying cord pulling at me like with my previous Logitech dual optical and the batteries have never run out on me. I just charge it every night and have never had a problem in the year that I've had the mouse. It's a tad heavy but that makes me like it even more and I cannot make the mouse mess up when I move it super fast. With my dual optical I could do that, but not with this mouse. The back and forward buttons are a godsend, I'm in hell whenever I have to use my schools original scroll wheel Microsoft mouses. The scroll wheel is perfect, not too resistive but not too non-resistive, it's just perfect. I've never had any problems with the feet wearing out either, dunno what kind of surfaces you people are using it on, sandpaper? I guess my only real complaint is the rather cheap silver paint used, it's starting to wear away from where my fingers make contact with the mouse. So how great of a mouse could this be if the only complaint I can think of is the paint, COME ON GET THIS MOUSE!!!!

The MX700 kicks ass, hands down. Everything about it is top notch, I've never had it run out of batteries for me. I just pop it in the charger whenever I'm away from the computer. And it looks beautiful. The Black/grey scheme matches all my other computer components and just looks amazing. I use it on a RatpadzGS and despite what everyone has said, I see no wear on the feet! And no, I dont just use it for spreadsheets, I actually game. Only thing I'm disappointed about is from putting it in the charger so much (I've had the mouse since last July), there is a black ring on the end of the mouse. This is from that rubber thing in the base. It wont come off! Oh well...great mouse, best I've ever used. Get the MX Duo, the MX900 I dont think is even worth it right now. You wont see a noticable improvement between RF and Bluetooth (at least I didnt)

Basically the MX700 is the greatest mouse to ever have been created. Only other MX-series mice even come close. This thing feels and works awesomely well. Any problems with battery time or lag are either due to improper usage or defective parts. I also hear Logitech is pretty good with warranty service, but I have never really heard of MX-mice dying so i cannot say.

This is THE mouse. Get it - you will love it. It will spoil you.

if only they did make that part from rubber thoses marks wouldnt happen. its instead its a hard plastic type material. you arent seeing marks really, just where the mouse is worn down from contact with the piece. minor flaw, still a great set.

I don't like how the MX310 feels in my hand. The slope down at the back of the mouse (where the Logitech emblem on the MX500 is) just isn't right. It leaves a bump in the palm of your hands... awkward.

just wondering.. does anyone here use the diNova set from logitech. I know the price is kinda high, but i'm just looking for reviews on it. Im getting a bluetooth pda/phone soon and and also looking for a new KB/mouse combo, so the bluetooth receiver would be nice to sync w/ the pc. I havent seen much on it yet, and the logitech site keeps saying its not available in canada yet (though one of my local hole-in-the-wall retailers apparently sells the set).

Where can i buy a MX510???

I used my lifeline and it is my final answer ;)

Thanks
