Do I need to install the drivers? I just got it for xmas today, and it's really funky. It lags sometimes, and somemtimes just stops for no reason. It also seems pretty hard to control.

Do I just toy around with the settings in windows or install the drivers?
 
I also got it today, it worked fine right off the bat, without installing drivers. The drivers were useful only for setting up the buttons to do something, and some adjustments with cursor speed (but it was working fine before I fidgeted around with it...).

Maybe a defective mouse?
 
You could install the drivers. Makes a difference. Do not install that crappy logitech software though. Just download the drivers, uncompress the file into a folder, then just do a update driver, find driver, install then you are done...I noticed a difference from the standard generic microsoft mouse drivers...
 
I doubt it's defective, I'm not really sure though. I'm trying to use it without mouse acceleration, which feels REALLY REALLY weird...
