MX1000 too big?

I need a new mouse and I was considering getting a Logitec MX1000, but I was afraid that it might be too big. I have big hands, but I still like small mice. I currently use the bottom of the line logitec optical mouse and it is quite small but I really like it's shape. I noticed that the MX1000 seemed to have a wing that your thumb rests on and that weirded me out. I need to be able to rest my thumb and pinky on the pad so that I can move the mouse more accurately. You can't be very accurate if your movement is coming from you shoulder......
I am probably going to end up getting the MX510, but I would likely end up regretting it and wishing that I had the laser at some point. Has anyone used the MX1000. I will probably have to go to bestbuy and try them out first.

I pick up the mouse a very slight bit when I make large movements or reach the end of the mous surface.
 
The MX510 is a very good mouse! I use it and I'm completely pleased with it, MX1000 is IMHO VERY large and heavy!
BTW if you have a problem with surface size you should think about a large pad (Plastic - Steelapad S&S, Cloth - Fataltity Pad, Steelpad QcK+)!
 
The MX510 isn't that small either. It would be good for you if you liked the size though. If you want something that is good but even smaller, get the MX310.

LMAO! uhhh... i think most people use their wrist for stability then the mouse gets moved back and forth with your fingers, or your wrist moving left and right, just an assumption tho.....

as for small mice i know they make some nice laptop ones :D
