MX1000, Back/ Forward buttons are not working afte installing software

They worked fine before I installed the latest software for it. All other buttons work fine, and even after I remapped a few of them. I use Back/Forward all the time, and now for some reason, it just stopped. Before I installed the software, it worked fine.

I have double and triple checked to make sure its setup right, even remapping them, and then back to Back/Forward. Even threw in a good 'ol reboot for good measure. Same thing, it just doesnt work.

Anyone have this problem?
 
did you goto a new OS?? Try a different USB port yet?
 
I had the same problem too. It only happened in firefox though. It started working again when i closed the logitech system tray icon in the corner, after that it worked fine again...hopefully they fix that soon.
 
I saw a thread last night on the Firefox support forum about the forward/back buttons on the MX-1000 mice. I believe the 'fix' was to go into the SetPoint software and set the front and back buttons to "Generic'. I can't say if this will work or not as the new KVM (Raritan USB KVM - emulates a MS mouse so you don't get a delay when switching from system to system) I bought isn't passing the extra buttons through even though the software does see the mouse for what it is. Since I'd rather not have delay when switching from system to system, I put up with it. :)
 
I had the same problem with Firefox. Setting them to generic fixed the problem.
 
Yeah, forgot to mention its in Firefox. In IE it worked fine.

Just tried the suggestion of setting them to generic, and they now work in Firefox, thanks!
 
Arrrgh, this totally bites. I just hooked up my mx1000 and I run into the same issue, along with not being able to do some things that I could do with my mx700. sigh, I love all of these "great" reviews it's getting, when the software is a POS.
 
It's a shame I'm going to have to use Logitech's awful software... I installed it when I first got it and hated it. Uninstalled it, then played some games. I now have negative mouse acceleration... the faster I move my mouse the slower I turn in-game. So, off to reinstalling it.
