Does anyone have this mouse? What do you think?

I read a review saying that it's not a good gaming mouse. Is this true?

A lot of people yelling "It's no good for gaming!" use the official Logitec Setpoint software... which sucks. There's something else out there, I cannot remember the name at the moment, but it gets around the Setpoint limitations and makes using Logitec mice a generally more enjoyable experience.

As for "mouse lag" and such... no idea there. I do not own a MX Revolution (though I'm considering buying one) but do have a MX700 wireless, and have had no issues with it. I don't game much with it, but there is no real noticeable delay when I do. Then again, I've been happy with my MX310 wired mouse for gaming, so... maybe I'm just not all that demanding with regard to mice.

Um I use that mouse every day in my gaming and I love it. I dont see why ppl get really piss about that mouse. And I never used the logitech software for my mouse...

Also, if you want a gaming mouse, and you want Logitec, it follows you'd want one of the Gx/Gxx line. At least, that's what I'd think.

Have any experience with Razer? I've also looked at theirs, but consistent complaints of "It feels very light, the cord is too thin, generally feels junky" and "it lasted 6 months" scare me off.

Well I've had my MX1000 for years and I'm spoiled with the cordless thing. Also, I chose the MX1000 because of how big, bulky, and comfortable it is. I have huge hands so small mouse hurt my joints. The MX Revolution seems to be the only other mouse that is as big as the MX1000.

Have you actually handled an MX Revolution? They aren't all that big, really.

My hand on the MX revoltion fits perfect. I don't have huge hands, rather small for my size. And I would not go back to a wired mice. I hate it.

If you have a Logitech mouse that uses SetPoint, get this addon-pack called "UberOptions". It lets you customize any of the buttons to do many more things than they were each meant to do.

If you have big hands and want a mouse that is comfortable... the MX518 is the answer.. inexpensive and durable.. I have been using mine for 2+years and I love it..

Best mouse I've ever had... but I do want a Revolution...

The software you will want is called UberOptions, it allows you to bind almost any function (and I think macro) to any key/wheel and it works for almost every keyboard and mouse available within the last 5 years or so. I've had my Revolution with a DiNovo Edge keyboard for some time now and I love them both.

Also, I game with it with the best results from a mouse I've used to date. I also have had the mx700 and mx1000. This mouse is hands down the most fluid, fine piece of Logitech goodness I've ever owned, and I'm an avid Logitech fan.

I installed this software for my G5. I noticed that when I now run a game in a window.. that is "speeds" my mouse up to the highest setting. Kind of annoying, has to be Uber, cause it didn't do this before.

Doesn't it have a cord though? I hate non-wireless mice.

I'm hearing lots of good things about the Revolution. If you buy it at newegg.com right now, you can get it for around $50!

When I first had one in my hands I was at Best Buy, yea, I bought it that day and shelled out $90, it was new, I was feelin risky and hell, I just had picked up a $200 keyboard, lol. (That would be my DiNovo Edge I mentioned a few posts up). So at $50 I would consider it a steal for such a sleek looking, smooth mouse. Just make sure you get a worthy mousing surface. :D

Has anyone used newegg's Bill Me Later thing? How is it? I'm thinking about using it to get the mouse.

I use the bill-me-later thing at Newegg all the time. It's just like a credit card (with pretty high interest rates if I'm not mistaken) If you spend more than 250 bucks you get 3 months to pay it off interest free. Never used it for under that amount tho. It's painless and the wife doesn't mind so much when the payments are spread out over a couple of months vs. one big one. If you're only gonna use it to buy a mouse, just pay it off by the end of the billing cycle and I don't think they charge you interest.

If you're using Bill Me Later on a $80 purchase... you might want to just wait until you can pay outright.

So I could buy the Samsung 226bw today, I could pay for it in August? Do you have to be approved for it like a credit card? I have fairly bad credit :(
