Hahahahahahaha, that was hella funny. Well the games worth just the laugh if you didnt spend too much money on it like me. :)
 
Along with IWnet comes the fact that, because of the lag, you can get killed behind walls (like if you are down a corridor from someone shooting at you and you move to the left or right, behind cover where you cannot get hit otherwise, the enemy can still hit you for a split seconds because of the latency. So you end up dying behind cover even though you moved there to prevent dying in the first place.

Sounds like Source or Team Fortress 2. If the latency is bad enough you get sniped after you know damn well you cleared the corner; it almost seems as if the person with the highest ping benefits from it.

its because the game doesnt use anti-lag scripting.. which is suppose to calculate that crap.. but puts to much load on the host server.. err wait.. thats right there are no servers in MW2.. :p

Thats a hitbox problem, which, in the same way is kind of related, but its 10x worse in MW2.

I havent experienced that in TF2 at all though. I just think IWNet was a terrible decision. 80% of the game problems can be solved through dedicated servers and console support. Even if you dont want to take "noob" weapons out of the game (akimbo g18s/rangers/1887s and tubes), you can enforce that players not use them through moderation of servers. Same goes with all the hackers. By not giving them immediate consequences for cheating, you are just encouraging them to cheat. And lets be honest. VAC isnt worth shit.

In all seriousness, I loved the MW2 single player campaign. Short, but sweet as hell. Oh, and the video in OP was hilarious.
 
That was hilarious. For a while I used to try shooting aircraft down with the Javelin, just never ended up getting the message quite as explosively as that guy.

Modern Warfare 2 is not only on PC. Console games can't do dedicated servers, sorry. Stop ruining what should be a funny thread with all of your annoying "LOL MW2 ON PC FAILS", because this is not the PC gaming subforum, it's the general gaming forum.

That movie was hilarious.
 
Single player sucked ass really. It was totally ADHD friendly, made little to no sense as it jumped from spot to spot without any real reason, and contained the silliest soundbites of speech like 'keep it frosty'... other than that, the plot and everything else was pretty much just CoD4 all over again. I picked up a maximum pc while waiting at the drug store for my scrip (I have a condition called mydickistoobigforyourmomitis) Thomas McDonald did a little blurb about why MW2 is a flaming pile of dung, single player as well... and why we are all dumber for having played it now. His comments were right on. MW2 is for 12 year olds.

Though I agree the title was a bit inflammatory, perhaps "Javelin fail" should have been used.

I agree, and I watched the video.

I miss the old duo vs quad, Intel vs AMD threads. we get it, mainstream/noobs like it, pros shouldn’t. can we move on now.

Intel vs AMD isn't even a contest at the moment.

Quad cores are cheap enough that all but the truly frugal can afford them.

Windows 7 is out and everyone likes it, the Vista haters and defenders alike want to put the whole thing behind them.

Even the video card forums are less active than they could be, with Fermi delayed ad-infinitum.

With nowhere else to go, the trolls come here. Who can blame them? With the dwindling number of PC exclusives, a new DRM horror story every week, and the whole MW2 debacle, this has been the focal point for the most controversy lately. It's the next best thing to ponying up the $15 to go play in the soapbox.

While you're right about tastes being an element, it's probably fair to say that MW2 was objectively poor due to all the things they cut out of it without any justification.

I just wanted to share a funny video , not to bash the game, which I liked, so don't go wishing a ban when you don't even see the point of it.

I couldn't disagree more. What they released in their finished product was what they wanted it to be. If they would have liked to take more time implementing features, they would have. You can't base a game off of what you would have liked to see, but off of what it already has and what they do with it. Taste isn't just an element, it's the main driving factor. For example, I absolutely love the game, as I did MW1.

I like my cars without brakes, its a taste thing really. If they wanted brakes, they would've spent more times putting brakes on it. :rolleyes:

Compared to the first game, releasing a sequel with a lot of features locked out - features that made the franchise what it is, with competitive play and mods driving the community - it does seem a bit of a step back. I wasn't commenting on whether people enjoyed it or not, but nor am I saying that they OUGHT to have included whatever. Simply that the game is objectively inferior in terms of features.
