Hi All-

Me again with another question. This time I'm wondering if anyone knows of any solutions for some kind of inline speaker "mute" switch. Let me explain:

Sound will be output from my computer via a USB DAC. Sound from the DAC will be passed to a headphone amp. Sound will also be passed (pre-amp) through RCA jacks to my desktop speakers.

When I'm using the speakers, I'll turn the headphone amp all the way down or off. When I'm using the headphones, I'd like to turn the speakers all the way down or off.

Now, there is volume control on the front of the amp for the headphones. However the speakers I chose have their volume control on the back of one of the speakers, requiring me to reach around back behind them every time I want to turn them down/off. This is only a minor inconvenience, but I'm wondering if there is maybe a convenient solution?

Is there any kind of device that could sit on my desk inline between the DAC and the speakers that would allow me to either control the volume or just mute/unmute the speakers?

I feel a bit silly because it is such a trivial thing, but just thought I'd check! If there's nothing really out there like this, it is no problem.

Thanks!

I'm looking for something like that as well, and the plantronics seems to be the only one on the market. Would be nice if sennheiser or another hi-fi company made one.
