I bought a MP101, but it only plays MP3's and designated radio stations.... not really what I want... I want EVEYTHING that comes outta my audio output to come through my stereo, in the living room... is there such a device, for a reasonable price that I can get my hands on??

Don't know if I'm hearin you but:

I'm a heavyduty Audiophile and I use My creative for CD/DVD/Mp3 and Win amp for streaming media (i.e. internet radio stations) on my Bang & Olufsen 7.1 Home Theater System.

This is the same thing as my MP101... it will NOT play EVERYTHING that comes out of my audio out port... I CAN run a really long cable, but I'd like something wireless...

What you want is something like this: http://www.smarthome.com/7656.html

Designed for this very thing: sending a source in one place to a player in another place. Most have a set of RCA jacks (L/R/V) and maybe an S-video, depending on the model you get, on both sides. Get a stereo mini to RCA adapter cable and you're set. There are many other brands, this is just what was at the top of my Google search.

 
the leapfrog thing is what I want.... any other products that do the same thing??

Hardly... the Squeezebox is the best digital music player available and it will play "EVERYTHING". What does it not offer that you are looking for?
 
Ok, let's say I throw a CD into my system... I have to extract it to my HD frist right?? What about if I want to listen to some windows media/ real audio live feed from somewhere??

Do you not have a CD player in your stereo? The Real audio and WMA are being worked on but there are plenty of other options.

Your only other option to do everything is to build a media computer and hook it up directly to your stereo and run something like meedio.

yeah perhaps... but do you really want to go walk over to your computer to change things or see what's playing? Wouldn't it be better to have a display that tells you what you are listening to and allows you to navigate easily?

The wireless transmitters just seem a bit ghetto to me. It sounds to me that you just purchased the netgear and probably can take it back. If you are willing to spend that money, a Squeezebox is the way to go.

With a laptop, this is not a problem... if I go to bed and want to listen to some sorta radio station, I can take the laptop with me, and have whatever I want coming though my speakers.
