Music sticking when playing w/X-FI and Media Player

I want to know what's up with my DVD-RW drive because my older panasonic slot-load dvd-rom drive can read the music fine but when i put the same cd in the DVD-RW drive the music starts sticking. The first note is kept playing continuously and the other notes are just added on. It's hard to explain how it sounds but it's just distorted. When I was using the onboard sound this never happened. Is it my soundcard, the X-Fi, or is the dvd-rw drive?
 
You have resource problems.

First thing is upgrade system board bios if a new oen is available, then go into bios and disable anything your not using (like serial and parallel ports, unused IDE channels, etc...)

If that doesn't work, then switch USB ports and move the card to a different pci slot.
