Hi all,

Yesterday, I read an article on digg, and it got me thinking that I also have too much music. Right now I have full albums, but sometimes only for a couple of the tracks. As much as it hurts, I think I'm going to start tossing bad songs. How does everyone keep their collections? If you keep single tracks from albums, do you keep the track numbers tagged in the files? Just wondering.

Thanks,

I keep all my albums.

Most of my stuff is FLAC via my own rips from the 8000+ CDs or so I own. I used to have 500+ GB of various live mixes and stuff but a harddrive crash nuked most of it. Which was kind of ok since I needed to clean it up anyway.

I keep track numbers tagged in because Foobar2000 likes it that way :D

On my iRiver with Rockbox, I used the file tree structure and I would only have songs that I actually listen to or might listen to.

But on my Zune, it's simpler to keep everything due to the clunkiness of the interface, so bleh.

Interesting article. :)

i own aproxx. 450 cds which i ripped to flac for convenient listening. the playlist would play for over two weeks.
but when i have the time i like to put on a record (i own only a few) sit back and just relax and listen.

Don't know why you're asking us. Some people like listening to albums, others just songs.
If you can deal with not having the whole cd then maybe you should "clean".
start with some of the bands you don't like as much?
