i read it uses BH-5 chips?! can anyone confirm, im about to jump on some from newegg

Yes and also PC3200 Level-II has them as well (that's probably what Painballer meant :D). Both lines will cease once BH-5 supply expires.

I don't think you can really accurately estimate that time.
