Hey all,
I'm currently playing WOW and so far, so good. I have dual LCDs and keep my WOW in a windowed mode on one LCD so I can easily reference the other LCD. I usually have a couple if not more WOW forum pages open to use for reference.

Alt+Tab just doesn't work worth a damn in WOW and thus I am forced to use windowed mode. Using windowed mode slows down things a bit, but its generally ok and I keep fps over 50 most of the time.

Does anyone else play in windowed mode so they can cursor off screen to a second or third monitor or Alt+Tab to another screen to reference something or do other things while you play? Do most of you reserve yourself to basically only playing your game while your, well, playing your game? How many out there just play games and how many of you play games and look at stuff online, listen to music, check email, use AIM or Yahoo or MSN, etc.

If anyone plays WOW and has a better way of multasking than playing in windowed mode let me know.

I run WOW in windowed mode and have no problems at all. The odd thing about this situation is if I window and then just use the taskbar to bring up a webpage or to switch songs in Winamp on the same LCD, I have no problem. But if I use the other monitor to do the same thing I get serious slow downs.

Do you have this same problem?

The only thing that I have found that reduces this is setting all the detail levels to low.

my taskbar kinda gets in the way of the UI on the bottom in WOW (i know I can modify the UI, just haven't gotten to it yet). I have to minimize the WinXP taskbar while I play WOW.

When I play in windowed mode and alt+tab it does slow down the game a bit for me, dont it's barely noticeable.

I accidentally dragged the WOW screen half way to the other monitor yesterday and was getting major slow downs and 3fps.

I would LOVE to have this games playable on both screen with chat, character info, settings, etc accessible on one screen and the playable world on the other. It would also be fantastic to have the ability to open up Firefox or IE within the game as well as a utility to check Outlook mail and play winamp. Of course, it all will never happen, but I could see an MMORG maker designing for two monitors eventually.

I play WoW fullscreen and alt-tab every once in a while. Only problem I encounter while doing that is that the mouse pointer graphic will freeze in place sometimes, and I'll have this invisible pointer until I reboot. And when I switch back to WoW, the pointer will be on the screen in the place where it got stuck in Windows. Not a big thing.
