wondering if it is possible to have two separate raids setup from the same motherboard or will i have to get a pcie raid controller?

what im looking to do is a raid 0 with 2 ssds as main storage for games and working photo projects and then separate raid 1 on traditional drives for long term/important storage.

motherboard: Asus PRIME X470-PRO

alternative recommendations welcome as well :)

It depends on the raid controller. sevler of my mobo did with "hw" controllers
But you can always jsut use the "hw" raid controlelr for system raid. and then use windows raid for the non system ones.

Assuming you're referring to the ASUS built in ports that use the raidxpert2 controller.
The quote below is from the raidxpert2 userguide https://drivers.amd.com/relnotes/amd-raidxpert2_user_guide.pdf
In some circumstances, more than eight arrays are possible. They might appear to function properly, but are not supported by AMD-RAID
That gives plausible assumption you can create multiple arrays with the motherboard, so 4 disks in two different arrays of one raid 0 and one raid 1 seem easily doable without a hardware controller.
