my mom has a desktop that she doesn't use anymore (1900+, 1gb, 40gbhd) since she has a laptop and i wanna hook it up for the [h]orde. I already have an account under the username chambersc and am doing good...moving up the ranks. anyway, I wanna use that other computer for the horde but am wondering if i can link it to my account. also, i dont have a monitor for that PC so can i just plug in a monitor, boot up PC, get the program started then unplug the monitor from the back of the pc and hook it up to my main pc?

thanks.

Both projects will let you add multiple PC's to the same account. You just configure them for the same username and team information, and you should be good to go. If you plan on going headless, for F@H you can setup the program as a service which is explained in this guide, or for UD you can setup a service using firedaemon as explained ]URL=http://www.hardfolding.com/index.php?go=15]here[/URL] about half way down the page.

Hell yeah, you can. :)

Just setup the client of your choice with the same folding ID you're using on your main rig and let 'er go :) If it's networked you can monitor via EMIII, but if not it's not crucial. And yeah, you can pull the monitor plug out of the back when you're finished with no harm.

Congrats, that's your first borg :) and welcome to the [H]oard!

tightvnc.

free, and it works.

i'm running 2 boxen in my room, with 2 monitors on one (hehe) and nothing but power and lan plugged into the other. i can monitor it through VNC (if i want to)

ArionIscariot: [H]oard [H]ard for the [H]orde. though i suppose [H]oard kinda describes what we do, too...
i'm invincible!

If your useing Windozes then set it to turn off the monitor after one min.
That way its safer to plug/unplug the monitor as theres no vidio signal.
Plus it saves power.
Thats what I do to my headless boxen.

Luck........ :D
