How advantagous is it to put multiple partitions on the same volume (1 for OS, 1 for games)? If so, is there a way to change 1 partition to 2 within Windows without losing any data?

volume is typically reserved to describe a dyanamic disk partition
I assume you mean disk

Partition Magic can "split" a partition, move, resize, merge ect
actually you would resize it and make another partition
 
I guess I'll just reinstall Windows because I'm a cheap bastard. I didn't see a way to make multiple partitions at the beginning. How do I do it? If I reinstall, what do I do for registering and activating since I already did that?
