Multiple 12V rail useless?

I recently got an Antec Truepower 2.0 380w for my system. My specs are:

Asus a78nx-e
Athlon XP 2100+
512mb pc3200 ram
BFG 6800gt oc
2 cd/dvd drives
2 harddrives
and about 5 case fans with LED lights

My problem is that I had a generic 430w? psu for my system before i got the 6800gt. I decided to get something more reliable so I bought the Antec. The problem now is that 4 out of 5 of my case fans is running slower than usual and also my LEDs would not light up or is very dim. Is it the way the 12v rail is split? Would I be better off using a single 12v rail? Help appreciated!
 
Does your motherboard have the 2x2 connector? The one with 2 black and 2 yellow wires coming out of it? If so, you have the problem with cross-loading with the PSU, and that only one of the rails is being used for everything.

You should get something with a single 12v rail if it does not have the 2x2 connector. The 2x2 is for powering the cpu, and if it does not have it, it draws from a single rail.
 
Asus Socket A boards do not use 12V for CPU. Since that PSU only has the 2x2 connector on the 12V2, you're not using the 12V2 at all.
 
Yea it doesnt have the 2x2 connector. So does this mean i'm only getting half the power from the 12V rail since the 12V2 is not in use?
 
Essentially, yes. I'm still not familiar with what exactly cross-loading is... but I do know that the 12v2 is to provide power to the CPU only, via the 4-pin connector, and if you're not using it, you're going to experience the "brown-outs" you're experiencing - since everything is coming from the 12v1 (half your PSU) :D
 
Hmm this sucks....is there a way to use both rails for my motherboard? Any connectors out there that would convert the 2x2 to a 4pin or something?

No. You simply have the wrong PSU for the application at hand.
