what do you prefer to multi-display setups wide or full screen and why?

i noticed two 17 Full screen monitors are a nice dual setup..

Well, two 4:3 monitors are quite wide anyway :)
Widescreens do still have an advantage in gaming and movies, since you (mostly) can only use one display for that anyway.

Only widescreens tend to be too wide and to short on the height. A nice combo is to mix them though, a 24" 16:10 WS and a 21" 4:3 on the side will match quite well (which also can be upgraded with another 21" later ;)).
Or a 30" widescreen with one/two 20" 4:3 (in pivot mode) is a decent setup as well :)

But if you're going for smaller displays than 24" I'd go 4:3 all the way. On a multi-display setup you are gonna get quite a bit of real estate and it's a shame to have it all on one axis.

I'm not saying that i.e. 2x20" wide-screens are a bad setup, just not ""the best"" solution, often though you take what you get and in that case you might not have all the options.

This is purely my opinion though.
