Multi-GPU Cards too driver dependant

I've been noticing that all of these X2 cards, nvidia and ati as well as plain ole x-fire and SLI require too much driver coding that specializes per game.

Example: games will run slow unless nvidia or ati specifically have their coders look into the game and add specific profile to the game.

So in practice, I am reliant upon the drivers and ati or nvidia to invest resoruces into games for frames.

Seems like we've stepped into doing this over the past couple years. I don't like it.

Have a single card that runs great across the board with minor tweaks NON-game-defendant is what is b est I think.

But whatever

SLI is really not needed unless you're gaming at extra high res :)

That being said, I got a 2nd card cause people were dumping them with the 8800 GT release and because that 2nd PCI-E slot was staring at me and I figured its time to fill it with something.

But I agree, its really driver dependant, which could be a good or a bad thing.
