Multi-block installation query

Hi

I have just finished buying all the parts I need to get the new rig fully watercooled, but I'm not 100% sure what the best way of putting them together is. The parts I have (all 1/2" ID fittings) are:

Swiftech MCP655 Pump
Swiftech 5.25" bay res
Swiftech Storm CPU block
Alphacool NexXxos NB Sli Chipset block
Dangerden Maze4 GPU block
10' (just in case!) Tygon tubing
4' Clearflex 1/2" tubing (horrible chunky stuff, but a little bit wider ID than Tygon)
Black Ice Extreme II radiator (rad1)
Black Ice Extreme I radiator (rad2)
4 'Y' splitters

Because the chipset block has like 2 or 3mm holes, I'm guessing it is going to impede flow a lot. Not sure about the Maze4, but it probably offers little flow resistance.
I'm just not knowledgable enough to know which of the options below (if any) is best :

1.Use all 4 splitters to run each block in parallel.
2.Use 2 splitters to run a gpu->chipset route and a cpu only route.
3.Use 2 splitters and run the chipset on it's own and a cpu->rad2(?)->gpu route.
4.Use no splitters and go cpu->rad2(?)->gpu->chipset

BTW the loop starts: res->pump->rad1 (but you probably already guessed that)

And the ?'s are because I don't know if it's worth using the 2nd radiator or not (it was lying around after I dismantled my Waterchill, so I changed the fittings to 1/2" barbs.

The tubing runs are fairly small, as rad1 is mounted at the front of the case - an Aerocool CM-stacker ripoff :eek:)
Rad2 would be mounted at the back using the radbox (I can fit it inside but I guess it's better off outside).

I really don't want to trial-and-error through this, so hopefully one of the experts here in the forum can help me out.

BTW I forgot to post the components which are going to be cooled:

CPU: X2 3800+ (Currently @ 250x10 1.45v)
MB : DFI NF4 SLi-DR
GPU: AOpen 7800GTX (Currently @ 500/1380)
 
Use option 4.

If you use splitters, the water will always want to flow in path of least resistance. In other words, your chipset may not get adaquate cooling.
 
Cheers for that. I assumed splitting the flow would work better, but what you say does make sense. So would you recommend the 2nd radiator or not? Bearing in mind these points:

1. I will be replacing the GTX with an R580/G71 when they come out (only reason I haven't got a 2nd GTX).

2. The three 120mm papst fans will only be running @7v (I considered 5v, but I think that would then accentuate the hum of the pump) as I'm going for as little noise as possible. I realize there's little point using W/C on the northbridge, but the 40mm fan it utilizes is a bit whiney!

3. I plan on pushing the gpu/cpu overclocks as far as I can.
