Hi all. I have been receiving this error recently when accessing certain websites in IE. Let me give you some background info and the error itself. I am using Windows 98 on a P3 processor. I recently started having the error after trying to unsuccessfully install a linksys wireless-g router on my parents' computer. Here is the error and the steps I have taken to try to fix the error (no steps have worked so far so I came here)

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module MSVCRT.DLL at 018f:78015ca2.

IE then shuts down.

This occurs when I access such websites as www.rr.com (Road Runner).

Here are the steps I have taken to try to solve the problem, so if you were going to suggest any of these, please cross them off your list:

1. checked for existence of Yahoo toolbar (sometimes error can be caused by this) -- no toolbar installed
2. downloaded and installed latest MS libraries
3. Upgraded to latest version of IE 6 SP1
4. Restarted computer
5. Downloaded msvcrt.dll from dll-info.com. Tried to overwrite file in C:\windows\system but won't let me. Says file is "in use" so can't overwrite
6. Ran up to date virus scan with AVG
7. Uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, and reinstalled latest version of Spybot S&D, and ran full check
8. Deleted all temp internet files/cache/history
9. Unplugged wireless router
10. Went through steps 1-9 in Safe Mode and Standard Mode

So I am not quite sure what to do. I didn't mess with any registry files or delete any DLLs -- the only thing I deleted were desktop icons and AOL toolbar from the Add/Remove programs section in Control Panel.

For now I just installed Firefox, imported bookmarks, and will tell parents to browse with that instead. But I really want to get IE up and running....please help!!
