Hello,

I had VS2008 Beta 2 installed, along with the matching .net 3.5 Beta 2 - I needed to move bck to VS2005, so I uninstaled VS2008 and .net 3.5. Now certain apps, such as VMWare Server, and some games, report MSVCR71.DLL missing. Is there anything I can do here short of reinstalling VS2008 (I reinstalled .net 3.5) or a windows reinstall?

I'm on Vista - and I DO have the file in my system32 folder...

You probably have to re-register the dll file. Someone else might know the command off hand, but I can check on google for it. I had a similar problem with parts of Office 2003 and parts of Office 2007 installed on the same PC.
 
I've hunted all over google, and found no problem like mine...all solutions lead to .NET 1.1...which isn't for 64 bit vista (already included...)
