MSVC 2005 & 2008 debugging hangs windows 10

My work laptop had windows 7 installed with both MSCV 2005 & 2008 installed which worked fine under Win7 but after upgrading to Windows 10 the laptop "hangs" when I try to debug in either 2005 or 2008. I can still move some windows but ALT-Tabbing, CTRL-ALT-DEL, trying to bring up the task bar dont do anything.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this other than reverting back to Windows 7?
