Will be watercooled, trying to play BF2, Doom 3, CS:S, and Unreal 3 at 1280x1024 with at least 2X AA and 8X AF.

That could be a problem. According to that interview with Sweeney, the 6800u will only be able to do 1024x768 with the Unreal 3 engine.

If you're planning on using this card for Unreal 3 based games than the choice is obvious: 6800OC. Unreal 3 has full support for SM3.0 and only Nvidia cards can offer that.

that's a tough one...it's hard to tell what Unreal 3 performance will be like though. The cards are pretty equal in performance, neither one is gonna make or break you in terms of performance, but there is always that I'm illiterate (err, yah that's edited to fix meh mistake)

NA the 6800 PCI-E's wont unlock. Lets forget about U3 then, lets focus on BF2 type games.

That's with 2xaa...not sure 8x at that res is going to play well on either of those cards, sorry :/ looks like it's the 6800 by a bit, maybe a little better with the OC.

Now days Nvidia is the best for basically all the price points. In fact, I don't even recomend ATI to anybody anymore simply because Nvidia seems to have more to offer in every area. I sure hope that ATI can get it together to bring some competition back into the market.
