The board was advertised as having SATA II which is ~300MB/s. I now have a Solid State Drive (OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD rated at 285MB/s Write 275MB/s write) that uses SATA II and the speeds are half of what this hard drive can perform at.
The drive runs at ~150MB/s write/read (tested with ATTO and AS SSD Benchmark). Since I have an nForce board AHCI is cannot be enabled. I have tried RAID mode and IDE mode, I even tried using RAID mode enabled and setting up the hard drive (by itself) as RAID 0 and reinstalling windows on it. The results were actually worse than before ~130MB/s read/write.
Is there anything I can do to increase my speed on the SATA II controller?
