MSI KT7 Turbo 2 Doesnt recognize Duron 1600?

It just shows up as "unknown 1900+" cpu when the boot screen comes up. Is this ok or do I really need to get a new motherboard to support it.
 
you can try a bios update but i believe that board only supported to the 1400
 
Bios is upgraded to the latest, thats the first thing I did. It says it doesnt really support the 1600 on thier page. Will that make a performance hit though even though it is running at the correct speed?
 
hard to say.. I'd run a couple of benchmarks and compare and see what's up
