MSI GD65, i5/RAM overclock help

overclocking goals
i5 stock is 2.66 I want 3.4 if possible, otherwise I want 3.0
RAM Corsair XMS3 rated for 1600 but board stock is 1333 I want the rated speed

System Specs:
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power
Case: Antec 900
Cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus

I have room for another 92mm fan on the cooler and a 120 mm fan on the side if needed
current temp Idle 25/30c load is about 40c

MAX TEMP 60c preferred, I want the chip to last.

I guess I just need to know how to unlock some of the features in the MSI board that I cant seem to change manually, and if I should disable intel turbo boost.
 
i would disable intel turbo boost while your over clocking just so you know that when you set the clock to 3.4, it will be 3.4 and not 3.5 GHz.

I dont know how it is with your board, but i just changed my BCLK to 160.
with ram at x10 that got me to 1600 and the core was at x20 so clock was 3.2 GHz
(ram ended up failing because it was stock at 1333, so i had to move the BCLK to 166 and ram to x8 to keep it stable, but that did get me to 3.33 GHz core clock without having to increase the voltage)

o and max temps are 55-58
 
160 seems to be a bit of an odd baseclock, that might have had something to do with it.

maybe but ive been having small issues with this ram ever since i bought it (nothing that bugs me enough to deal with RMA though). didn't want to worry about voltage change on the ram so i left it at x8
 
turning on intel XMP seems to force the board to recognize the 1600 ram in the bios but cpu Z still says its at 1333
