MSI board forcing a ratio?

Ok, long story short, I have a NEO2 865pe board, with a gig of geil ram and a 2.4a chip. If I overclock through the bios or through corecell, it is giving me a 4:5 ratio on cpu/memory. I was able to run the CPU up to around 3.2ghz with one 256mb stick of pc4200, but I switched to 2x512 pc3200 (geil), and I can only get it to around 2.8ghz.

Anyone know how to disable the ratio on an MSI board? In the bios, under "frequencies" or whatever, there are options of ddr300, ddr400, ddr 533, etc plus an AUTO setting. You can also set the fsb. I have tried different combos, but I am still getting the ratio....

Thanks,

AzBlue

Got the same mobo. Had the same problem. A simple bios update should do the trick you can get it here . I have a Northwood 3.0@217= 3.2 1:1 with bios 2.5. You can also download the MSI live update here
Hope this helps. :D
btw I can take it all the way to 250 @ 3.75 with 4 sticks of 512 PQI 2-2-2 400s and do when I game. ;) and that OC of the 2.4a to 3.2 pretty nice for an A series.

Yea, I those 2.4s rock pretty hard. The 3.2 oc was on stock air too. I saw another one on here that it 4ghz!! that is awesome. I bumped down to the 3200 due to the 533mhz fsb that my 2.4 a runs stock - even at 3.2 ghz, I was only pushing like 188mhz fsb.

I have live update - but I will double check my bios to see if your tip helps. I am currently cloning an xbox drive using linux (dont tell uncle bill!) :  with that box, but I am anxious to try it out.

The onboard sound crapped out at 3.2ghz tho, so I had to throw a soundcard in there to fully enjoy HL2, which I finished tonight :)
