My coworker has 260 dollars in amazon credit and has about 150 dollars in cash. He asked me what I'd go for and I said the 6970 since it's a single gpu card. He has already bought the PC below:

I5-2500k
z68 motherboard (not sure on brand)
C300 special from Newegg recently
TX 750
Asus 23" 1080p monitor.

Given the choice between GTX 580 level performance (460 2Win) w/ SLI issues on single card or a MSI 6970 Lightning which would you go with?

ref 6950 unclocked/Oc'ed to 6970?

Has to be with Amazon preferably with Prime. I looked briefly and didn't see anything (reference card), granted their advanced search is garbage compared to Newegg.

I bought my R6970 Lightnings from Amazon. Got it in 1 day with Prime. Just an extra $3.99 each. Love Prime!

The Lightnings are great cards. Nice looks and good clocks. Yes, they are priced at a premium and worth it in my opinion.
