Hello all I recently swapped out 2 4850 ati cards for an HD6950 2gb. I thought I would see more of an increase in frame rates, qucker overall, etc. Anyway, the real question I have is this:

When I plug in the HDMI port to my monitor, An ASUS 23.6" TFT the whole screen is not in use. About 1 inch all the way around to outside is black and stays that way no matter what I do.
I can not find anything in any of my monitor settings, monitor manual, ATI driver settings, CCC package, etc.

Is this something anyone else has seen and/or does anyone have any ideas of what can be done to get it to use the whole screen.

Thanks very much for any help that you all can give me.

Thanks,
Mike

Most likely is the overscan properties in CCC. Under "My Digital Flat-Panels" look for Scaling Options and set it to the right at 0%.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I checked, it is at zero. I reinstalled the CCC just to be sure I had all default values also. I am going to go back to the 11.3 drivers. I installed the 11.4 with the card.

HDMI pisses me of... lol

I had a home theater PC that did this to me all the damn time. It would occasionally forget the setting and make me go in there and reset the overscan.

So you're not seeing that much of an increase in FPS going from Xfire 4850's to a 6950?

Scaling is mentioned twice in the Catalyst Center, make sure you are looking at the right one.

I also had this problem with my Sapphire HD6950@6970 2GB when switched from VGA cable to HDMI. There was 1" of black all round and overscan on 0%, so I switched back to VGA, ckecked "use manual detection only" in CCC -> Desktom Management, clicked restart and before it restarted I quickly switched back to HDMI (kept connected HDMI to LCD during temporary switch to VGA), and when the computer restarted it showed overscaning correctly on 5th point, I believe it's 5%, so I moved to 0% and works like a charm now :)

Go to CCC -> Desktom Management -> check "use manual detection only", maybe monitor is trying to use own settings so there's any incompatibility with card, it worked for me.

Sorry for my English :)
