MSDN license for VM OS?

Is getting an MSDN liceses this the best way to go about getting multiple non-production OSs for virtual machines? I'm building a box using ESXi and plan on using it as a development / test bed for our network running a few Win 2008R2 boxes at a time. Thread reference here for an idea of what I'm doing.

Depending on what you are doing, you can also use the 120-day trial installs. They're pretty awesome as VM guest platforms.
 
Also with Windows Server 2008 R2, even after the trial ends you can still continue to work of the OS. Before R2, it used to shutdown randomly, but with R2 it doesn't!
 
Technet subscription is another option for non-production use - and it's a lot cheaper then MSDN.

TechNet software is intended for evaluation and testing only. If your software has been fully developed, and only needs to be tested for compatibility with our software you may do so with TechNet Licensing. If you must set up a development environment, I would advise on purchasing an MSDN subscription (that's what it's intended for).
