In Word, if you are in "Normal View", you can display the Stye area by clicking Tools > Options, and on the View tab, set the "Style area width".

However, the only styles that are shown are those that are not in tables. Is there any ways to collectively view the styles in the tables? Sure, I could click each area and look in the Style bar, but that's awfully tedious when applying a template's styles to a large document.

I'm not sure if using Table Styles would have done anything differently, but I did not use those because I was not very familiar with them. Also, my numbered lists start outside of the tables, then move inside the tables, and I chose to avoid potentially altering those styles due to my minimal "Table Style knowledge".
