hopefully this is in the right forum, but here goes:

at work, we use an Exchange server and MS Outlook 2003 for email access. one of my job duties is replying to tech support/customer support emails, and sometimes need to search for an old email in the folders on the Exchange server, and performing such a search over the network can sometimes be extremely painfully slow, because we keep copies of emails for a long time, in case we ever need to reference them.

is there a way to store emails/folders on the local PC for faster access when running a search through those folders/emails, and is there a way to either manually or automatically synch up those emails with the server?

Dunno if it works with Outlook 03, but MS search will search through ost and pst files, very fast, works great with outlook 07

We use something called EmailXtender here at work. It works pretty damn well but can get slow if your vague with your searches.

You can use the auto archive feature in outlook to copy messages over to a local pst. That should be considered a band aid fix and you should consider an archive solution like a Barracuda email archiver or Enterprise Vault.

ive always had good luck with that program Look Out. Try installing that.
