Fun issue i have been having...

Dec 1st i tried to sign up with MS Azure trial for 1 month free trial. Since their system requires you to verify yourself with a phone number and text message, which does not work for Latin American, so why even offer the option.., i entered in my personal cell phone number that only people at work have and a few vendors who have had the number for the year i have had the number have.

Up until this time i only ever get calls from work or a very select few numbers i have in my phone.

Started Dec 6th, i get a call from a U.S number, I pick up the call and i just hear "click" sound, almost sounds like a Skype click when a call is finished or hangs up.

Following that call the same number calls 2 more times.

Okay, figure it is MS trying to confirm my Azure trial to verify it.

Over the next few days several times a day, 1-2 number would try to call me, same result, a click sound once i answer. I call back a number eventually as the calls started to get annoying and a guy answers and say "oh sorry, must have dialed the wrong number"

I had then thought pershaps it was a provider we use for DDoS services as we had some issues recently to which they confirmed their originating numbers and it is not them.

Fast forward to tonight, calls still going on, 1-2 a day, and they call 2-3 times. luckily i modded my S4 and i just block the numbers after the first call and going to just block all calls unless it is in my phone.

I call back the number and a young guy answers, I ask if they just called my number, he says yes, he must have, inform him he just called Latin America and to stop calling.

These calls started 2-3 days after trying to sign up for MS Azure trial, prior to this i have never had phone spam.

So my thinking is MS Azure site is compromised, someone on the inside is giving out numbers or something or someone has decided to put my number out their for some reason....?

Question is, what benefit would it be to give out my number except to harrass me, which is easily stopped...

Here is a list of all numbers that have called me since starting on 06/12/2014 Dec 6th 2014 18:19pm CR Time (-6).

I removed the last digit to be nice, even thought who ever is calling doesn't care.

Its the NSA OP. you better cut all cord with civilization and move to the sticks, they are on to you! :p

lol Shockey, i knew it! Like when my IP showed on GeoIP as being from Washington.

Weird part Thulemen is when the 2 numbers i called back, the people answering didn't sound like marketing companies, just people...

I may take a day in my time off this week to call back every number and see what i can get from them..

Have you googled the numbers? I've done that with weird number that show up on my cell phone. I had good luck with some other people who posted their stories about XXX number calling them.

Considering that telemarketers can spoof their callerID number, I wouldn't bother trying to call them back. Probably won't get back to the original caller anyway.
