I was hoping for 3.0, can't even get beyond 2.6. any suggestions?

FSB 270
K8 to NB Freq (4X)
K8 to NB Link (auto)
SB to NB Freq (5X)
Memclock (166)
= BSOD

I was stable at:
FSB 260
K8 to NB Freq (5X)
K8 to NB Link (auto)
SB to NB Freq (5X)
Memclock (166)
 
I had the exact same problem as you when I had the x2 3800+. Heck I even had the same motherboard as you when I had it. I dont know if water cooling would help but if you can try that.
