MPC-HC + FFDSHOW = no go?

Anyone having problem with Windows 7 64-bit and adding FFDSHOW to Media Player Classic Home Cinema as an external filter? It does not add anything when I select FFDSHOW in the folder, or am I missing something here?

Using the latest version of FFDSHOW also.

You should just need to install it like any other Windows program, you don't need to do that step (though you should be able to extract the filter files from the installer and load them that way if you want). You may need to disable some of the internal filters to actually get MPC-HC to use it though; it prefers its internal filters for quite a few things. Also you can't load 32-bit filters in 64-bit MPC-HC or vice versa, so make sure you're using appropriate versions.

Ahhhh that might be it, 64 bit vs 32 bit. The ffdshow one only has one link so I assumed it was for both 32 and 64 bit.

Edit: Wow I feel dumb, the 64 bit version of Media Player Classic Home Cinema does not support ffdshow yet.

Yeah, I'm still using the 32-bit one due to problems, but I haven't tried it in quite a while.

I don't think there is a 64-bit release build of ffdshow, but if you grab a nightly there are.

I've tried both 64 bit MPC-HC + 64 bit ffdshow (it's out there, somewhere) and the 32 bit iterations of both.

Go with 32bit, it's more stable atm.

and what you need ffdshow for? windows7 already has all the most popular codecs.

I was a fan of ffdshow until I switched to Win7, haven't used it since.

Sorry...I put in a DVD into my win7 machine and it looked like ass on my PJ. Dropped the same VIDEO_TS directory into MPC-HC and all was right with the world. Reconfigured MPC-HC to use FFDshow and the world was pretty damn awesome. Just because somebody gives you something doesn't mean it has value.
