Hi all. Over the past year my mp3 collection has grown quite a bit now, but still remains quite cluttered and unorganized. Can anyone recommend a way to quickly and efficiently tag a large collection of mp3s?

I use a program called ID3-TagIT. It's pretty easy to use and fairly useful for tagging a lot of mp3s.

Tagscanner works pretty good but it takes a fair amount of user input.
You can always allow Windows Media Player 9 to do its thing. ;)

It's wrong way to often and it takes way to much user input to sort out the results. :)
Other then that.... well.

It's been fine for all of my legally ripped mp3's :D

Mp3ext is an excellent program that is a shell extension for explorer. You select one or more songs or folders and when you go to the properties page there is an extra tab called mp3-info. It gives you editable id3 info, and it allows you to map info from the file name to id3 fields using regular expressions if you have a lot of similarly named mp3s. It also allows you to rename a file based on id3 info. Both can be done in batch mode.

I've completely organized my collection of ~20 gigs of mp3s and it's been awesome.

Tag & Rename rocks my world. you can look up tags from freedb, allmusic.com.....

tag ->filename....
filename ->tag

Plus the demo works for 30 days. Plenty of time to organize all your files.

Just use the built in foobar one. Its great if you got the time to make certain commands.
