I have/had a pair of MX500's that worked great and sounded very good (to me) but the cord on them has a bad connection and makes them scratchy when I move it in a certian way. What would anyone suggest as a replacement pair. Nothing real expensive either anything new to the market in the same price range. This is for an iRiver MP3 player that I cannot live without and its killing me not being able to use it without scratchyness.
 
The MX5xx are not cheap earbuds in terms in SQ. Get another pair if you like them, by all means. Not really expensive either.

Go with the KSC-75s if you want a full-sized headphone sound.
 
The KSC-75's aren't full sized headphones though, they are great earclip headphones... really comfy too!
