Mozilla Thunderbird (Linux vs Windows)

If I were to use Thunderbird on a Linux machine for a while, and then later decide to revert back to XP, can the mail box files be copied to XP, letting me keep my e-mail? I'm assuming the answer is yes, since Thunderbird stores e-mail in the same file formats on both OSes, but I wanted to check first.

Yep I did it on a computer 2 weeks ago, just throw them from .mozilla-thunderbird/ to Application Data\..thunderbird\ folder.
