Hi All
I have an ESXi 5.0 system running. I originally installed it with 4 hard drives running RAID5 on a Perc 5i controller. Everything was installed on this RAID array under ESXi.
I've since fitted an additional 4x250Gb hard drives that I've setup as RAID10 on the secondary channel of the Perc 5.
I've added the second datastore to ESXi (4x250Gb one), and want to move just the OS VM's to the RAID10 array.
My question is, some of my VMs have 2nd and 3rd virtual disks acting as local storage to the guest OS (i.e. I have a Windows Server 2008 VM with a 40Gb C: drive and a 800Gb D: drive). I only want to move the C: drive to the second datastore, I want to leave the other drive(s) on the RAID5 array.
Is it a case of just move the files I want and leave the rest in the original location? Then re-add to inventory the moved file.. Thought I'd check!
